Frequently Asked Questions
My dad can’t get into the tub anymore-what can we do?
Tub seats are available locally and can help. Installing grab bars and a hand held shower may make the tub safer. Grab bars are available in stylish finishes and must be mounted correctly, plastic wall mounts do not work. You can change an existing tub to a shower by cutting it open and refinishing it. This is an effective solution but has little lasting value.
A more costly long term solution is to install a new shower with low threshold, grab bars and a built in folding seat. Installing a new shower will also allow us to install a new shower valve that will prevent scalding and a hand held shower for better reach and safety.
We’re planning on staying in our home. Where do we start?
We will provide a room by room analysis, of your home looking for safety and comfort
problems. We’ll look for inappropriate design elements, proper ventilation, secure flooring, lighting problems, smoke detectors and emergency exits. Our review of your home will include both big and small issues and help you decide what to do first. It’s important to have a master plan so your investment works for today’s project and those in the future.
Nearly 90% of seniors want to stay in their homes and “age in place” and why not? The
cost of nursing and assisted living facilities is astronomical. You can maintain your
independence and keep those wonderful memories, alive within your walls. We will
provide a (no obligation) personal visit to your home to see if we can help.
How much do you charge?
Rates depend on the scope of your project and the condition of your home. In all cases,
our rates are comparable to what you will find for other craftsman and service providers
of comparable quality and professionalism. Our goal is to provide services as effectively as possible, asses your in-home needs and provide a plan that will meet your current and future needs.
Are you licensed?
Unfortunately Idaho is still one of the few states that fall short on providing its citizens
with a good contractor’s license law. It does provide a simplistic contractors registration
process. Our Idaho registration number is RCE 629. We are members of NARI of Idaho (National Association of the Remodeling Industry), and a current board member.
Better Business Bureau of Southwest Idaho, past board member and an “Accredited
Business”. Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce and member of the military affairs
committee.
We have been serving the Boise area since 1976. We look forward to meeting with you and discussing your remodeling and home improvement needs. Good luck with your next remodeling project.
